SuperMicro SuperServer 7047R-72RFT systems use DDR3 memory to operate at peak efficiency. If you need to replace a faulty memory module on this server or if you want to add memory to this server, Memory America has new modules that are guaranteed to be compatible with this server. SuperMicro SuperServer memory for 7047R-72RFT systems consists of Long DIMM 240-pin modules that range from PC3-8500 modules to PC3-12800 memory modules. This server has 16 DIMM sockets and can support up to 512GB of DDR3 ECC-registered memory or up to 192GB of DDR3 unbuffered memory. The memory voltages supported by this server are 1.5V and 1.35V respectively and the memory capacity sizes supported by this server range from 1GB to 32GB. The 7047R-72RFT SuperServer is considered a high-end server that features a dual processor serverboard. This high-end server can be severely damaged if you were to install incorrect memory for the system. The advantages of supporting multiple memory types are good but it can lead to mistakes that can cause the server to malfunction.
When adding memory to the server, the modules must have the same characteristics as far as voltage and memory type. You cannot use ECC-registered memory and ECC unbuffered memory at the same time, nor can you use memory that is 1.35V along with modules that are 1.5V. Additionally, you cannot use memory types that differ at the same time. For example, you cannot have PC3-8500 modules installed next to PC3-10600 modules. You can mix capacity sizes of memory as long as you stay within the supported thresholds of 512GB for ECC-registered memory and 192GB for ECC unbuffered memory. You memory purchase will be easier if you know the type of memory that is currently installed on your server and the amount of memory that is currently installed. Our modules are guaranteed to be compatible with your server.
