AMBRA computers were among the more affordable systems to be associated with the IBM brand. They featured moderate power and speed, and they were best suited for running applications that had low demands. On average AMBRA systems were equipped with either 4MB or 8MB of removable memory. While the pre-installed memory was modest, plenty of leeway was left for increasing the memory. Multiple sockets organized in two banks allowed for upgrades totaling 32MB. To compensate for the low level processor, the maximum RAM limit should be installed on AMBRA systems to boost speed and performance.
