PC Server represents the inaugural brand of servers in the IBM System X series. These servers operate using x86 processors and this line includes many models. Memory America has new memory modules for these systems but memory requirements vary on these machines so you will need to do your homework before purchasing replacement memory. Standard memory in this line ranges from 8MB to 256MB with the number of available expansion slots numbering four to 16. As a result, maximum memory can range from 128MB to 2GB depending on the machine so you cannot assume that your machine supports 2GB of memory. While the maximum capacity of memory varies, these systems tend to use 72-pin EDO SIMM memory modules. Uninstall a module on your machine to see the type in use before ordering new memory and be sure to install the maximum amount of memory to achieve the best performance.
